Neon, believe it on not is still a far superior product to LED lighting. Its not nearly as bright (you need so many LEDs to achieve the same brightness, it saves little if no energy).
Maybe if you're only determining factor is energy savings, but I would assume other factors go into choosing LED over Neon.

Here's some good news. Sony Ericsson is moving its north american HQ from RTP to Atlanta.

Maybe they're big enough to warrant 50 Allen Plaza getting back on track?

wow, that's great news. i wish the R&D group was coming here too.

CE/wireless is one of the bright spots in the economy that consistently outperforms most other categories.

if only philips hadn't folded up their NA headquarters.

Unfortunately, they probably could have their pick of new buildings in Buckhead (a number of which have no tenants at all), before even thinking about new development. Plus, there is an even bigger chance they will just move to the suburbs.

But hey, it is a good thought. I'll be hoping for Barry to start negotiations ASAP!

agreed on all that.

plus being the HQ, you're probably only looking at a few hundred folks tops, definitely not enough to warrant allen plaza which i think would only break ground for a major client with at least .5MM sq ft reqirement.....i'm thinking law/accounting firms, delta, coke, ncr....those types of players would need to step up for allen plaze to rise.

Here is a quote from the Business Chronicle...
Quote:
Morris said it is too early to tell if the RTP jobs moving to Atlanta will be at its 3344 Peachtree Road site, or another site in the city
Hopefully they're more attracted to intown if they're already at 3344 Peachtree.
I would think that would bring that building pretty close to 100%...good news for the other Buckhead developments if they pick that area of town.
