Your Favourite French Fry Shack/Chip Truck

This being Ottawa, it's impossible to ask where the best french fry shack or poutine parlour is because you'll just be picking a fight. So where's your favourite?

Mine has got to be the shack in the Canadian Tire parking lot in Bells Corners. I usually drop by that place when I'm biking on the Stony Swamp trails and their fries are always perfect, crispy on the outside and moist inside, and not too greasy.

Chez Rejean on St. Joseph in the Wrightville sector of Hull.

Sadly Rejean passed a few years ago before he could enjoy retirement, but his business lives on in a new younger owner/operator.

Ooh I've been to a few.

Frank's Fabulous Fries on O'Connor/Laurier

The Tzan Wagon on Laurier and Bank

- Chez Rejean (already mentioned by Norman) It's usually a lot busier than this.. I took this on a Sunday morning.

- Pataterie Hulloise (at Montclair and St-Joseph in Hull.. if this place ever tries to change into a new business, they will never get the fry smell out... the walls literally sweat grease)

Haven't tried this place.. I don't even know if it's still open (Wellington St in Hull, right across from Les Terrasses)

Couple of other ones I frequent are at Bank & Cooper, and further down on the east side of Bank (MacLaren, I think..)

- edit... yet another one just outside of Holt Renfrew too (how classy is that?)

Ugh, my arteries are clogging just thinking about all that fatty goodness..

I've also had many a good poutine at M&G's at Bank and Sunnyside. I absolutely love their bacon and tomato grilled cheese.

I gotta say, those are all good, but I keep going back to the Royal Oak's Spicy Fries. Especially when dipped in hot sauce, they are exceptional.

Whenever I am heading up the valley, I like to stop at Wes' Chip Wagon on Madawaska Blvd. in Arnprior.

Glen's was a sort of going-to-Canadian Tire ritual. That might just have been the last sidewalk-friendly Canadian Tire in the city, but I digress.
