Photo Updates to Construction Projects

Construction Updates for April 14, 2011 (Click on the thumbnails for larger photos).

Wonderland Road Widening (by request of haljackey):

Nuvo Condos (for the record, I think these look pretty sweet):

Goodwill:

Renaissance Phase II:

Medallion (Old East):

And lastly (for today), the new water resevoir plant on Highbury Rd South.
This project has been a pretty big one, and is a big part of getting development south of the 401.

Nuvo is great. If only it was located along a downtown street.

It's off of Sugarcreek Trail, which itself is off of Proudfoot Lane.

Mine too!I especially like when you come down that last little slope where it turns into 4 lanes near downtown.

Nice pics Kokkei

The Victoria Hospital project is another parking garage. It's severely behind schedule, to the point the hospital is begging ~300 people to give up their parking passes.

But what about that sign beside the parking garage. Is that another building that will be built once the parking garage is finished?

Its the Grace Donnelly Pavillion that's already been built on the north side on Baseline. The existing parking garage now connects to it. While the external structure has finished years ago, they're still finishing the inside for specific medical uses.

Back around 2004 the new parking garage area was suppose to be a major add-on in the new Shriners hospital. However Montreal launched a major PR blitz and it remains in Montreal.

Wow, fantastic updates!

431 Richmond is coming along fast. It was just over a week ago that I saw it and it was still just at foundation level.

Construction Updates for June 10, 2011 (Click on the thumbnails for larger photos)

With the Goodwill's exterior almost complete, all we need to do now is get rid of that ugly billboard right in front of it.
You can also see the reconstruction of Horton St. in the first photo.

Renaissance Phase II:

And Simpseatles, I took a close up of the green roof on the first building to show you they actually did go through with the renderings.

431 Richmond St:

Medallion's Old East development is one story away from finishing their first tower's base! Then there will be 15 more stories to go!

And they're finally adding windows to the first level! When I went by they had two windows installed, and all the windows on the bottom level were on site and are probably installed at this point.

Lastly I decided to venture out to the new "Innovation Industrial Park" at VMP and the 401. I don't know when the first building is going to start construction, but this development interests me a lot, as it is bordering the 401.

Also, you can see there are plans to eliminate Old Victoria's jog at Bradley. In the second photo, you can see grading and fire hydrants already complete.

If there is a certain construction project you'd like me to get a picture of, let me know.

Construction Updates for July 5, 2011 (Click on the thumbnails for larger photos)

The first stop on today's tour is in historic Wortley Village. At 162 Wortley Rd, a new building is being built. A rendering has been attached, and looks like a promising project. Needless to say, I will be following it very closely.

Next is "Phase II" of the Renaissance development at York and Ridout. The second story's exterior is almost complete, as work on the third floor starts.

At 431 Richmond, future home to Shoppers Drug Mart and offices, progress continues on the walls. Soon we will be seeing windows and masonry work taking place.

Taking King St. out of downtown will lead us to Medallion Developments' Old East project. The first story of the 15-floor "tower" is now being worked on. Also balcony doors are now installed on the first level. You can also see windows ready to be installed for the second floor. And notice the blue tape between the first and second story? I'm assuming that's for cladding?

Steps away is 637 Dundas St. where a 3-fl/9-fl development is taking place. The part facing Dundas (3 floors), is well under way. The bottom section of the crane is in place, and has been for a few days.

Simpseatles suggested I take some photos of the new Ivey Expansion at UWO. On the way there, I decided to stop by Piccadilly Park and take some photos of the new enhancements.

After that brief stop, we have now arrived at the new Ivey Expansion at UWO on Western Road. Looks like a welcome addition to UWO's campus.

Last on our stop, also suggested by Simpseatles, is the new Stoney Creek Community Centre on Sunningdale Rd. I must say that this building really impressed me and turned out just like the renders.

On a side note, when I was on Sunningdale Rd, on my way to the community centre, between Richmond and Adelaide, I captured this shot of downtown. With a better camera, this would be a great location for skyline shots.

If there is a certain construction project you'd like me to get a picture of, let me know.

Great updates.

Are both Old East Projects under construction now right? Looks like we gotta get this updated again: http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?cityID=61 (old east II is proposed). Also, some drawings wouldn't hurt.

SLR Cameras are amazing, but they are amazingly expensive. You might see the occasional deal pop up online or on Boxing Day, but they require a lot of 'training' to take good pictures compared to a point-n-shoot.

I once tried to take a panorama of the skyline on Sunningdale, but my point-n-shoot won't let me zoom in while doing so.
