The square footage is much higher (for the price). I get really tired of the word "condo" being a synonym for "small". It is not. It is an ownership model. Size has nothing to do with it.
Rooms that cost money like Kitchens are much bigger in the older ones and have much more storage. The new condos leaving out kitchen walls is really a bit of builder ploy to save on cabinets.
As the post above said, I love having the separation between the "public" (living space) and "private" (bedrooms) areas of the home.
