Just read that Omarion (former B2K member, huge R&B Star) will be playing a free show @ Bayfront Park on Friday, Aug 5th.

Awesome news! (Imagine.. a concert at the WestHarbour? Where could it have possibly been held? Not Ivor Wynn!)

The free concert will be a nice addition to the Mardi Gras festival. Of course, an Omarion concert would not come close to the kind of scale that would demand being housed in a football stadium like Ivor Wynne. It is much more suited for a festival-type gathering like this or the Festival of Friends.

It will be great when the IW rebuild is complete, because then it can be a venue for concerts again. Promoters have been aching to put on a show there, but the current stadium's required facility standard levels were not sufficient for concerts. Perhaps when Omarion makes it to the big time he can come back and play the new Ivor Wynne Stadium.

^^ Maybe that statement which has nothing to do with the Hamilton Mardi Gras Carnival Caribana Festival and/or Omarion could be moved to the PanAm 'Stadium' thread.
