Birmingham - pics from June

it's been too long since we've seen pics of Birmingham. it was the last stop on my move this summer.

the city seems to have changed for the better since i last visited in 2008; more nice new infill, more pedestrians, even less grit.

RIP Randy Sandford

let's go explore South Side...

starting with an old warehouse district that will probably be gone/converted in a decade. to the south it's being eaten by UAB's medical district; on the north is the new Railroad Park

I was just there yesterday. It is an impressive city and i know it will continue to improve itself. The city and metro have so much going for it. Plus i also wanted to send my condolences out to the families and victims and anyone effected by the tornado that devastated Pleasant Grove, Birmingham, Fultondale and other areas nearby.

The city does have so much potential. It's extensive grid (road) system is probably the best in the Southeast, outside of New Orleans. It has great transportation connections and is set in a beautiful part of the state. I'm sure we could see it blossom if JeffCo ever gets out of this debt mess.

And thank you very much. We all appreciate your thoughts.
