For those of you who are interested, WTTW has an
excellent series of videos that explores Chicago. There's a tour of
the Loop, an exploration of the
neighborhoods by the L, a tour via
the river, and more. Mr. Baer, the host, does a wonderful job of inserting historical context, as well.
So far, I've greatly enjoyed the videos. You'll likely learn a lot from them.
