I honestly don't think it would make any difference to traffic whether there are 1 or 2 crossings. In theory, there will still be the same number of pedestrians either way.

Seeing as how there will be a cost associated with removing the original one, and how the survey proved how unpopular REMOVING it will be, let's just have 2.
