Crews are on the scene of a small fire at the Nordstrom at City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City.

There was a new building permit submission at City Creek Center in unit #117. There is also not a retailer named on the permit yet. The application does not appear to be complete yet.

The construction company that took out the permit is Dickinson Cameron. They have a number of high end retail clients such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel and they also have done the build outs for several Apple stores, including the store at the Gateway.

I will let you know if I find anything else. Now we can let the speculation begin...

I had to do a double take. I thought this was a photo of the Mid-Town Village project in Orem. My Bad!

Is unit #117 next to the food court? See my previous post...

Space 117 is on the West block on the lower level north side between Swarovski and Sephora. Actually there are two open spots there, 117 is the one closer to Swarovski, and 121 is next to Sephora.

117 is a somewhat larger space just east of the Nordstrom plaza.

I would guess that Apple and Taubman would want Apple to have a location that faces either Main or 100 S. For the long lines that happen when new products are launched. Just my opinion.

So has anyone noticed the black store by the food court?

And could #117 be west elm, that's a huge space.

My opinion is that the retail space in 222 South Main would be a cool location for an apple store. It would be away from the CCC but Apple stores are kind of destination stores anyway and it would be on Main and directly in front of a TRAX station.
Maybe that location would encourage people to walk down Main ST after visiting CCC.

Abercrombie did take out a permit for #117 but never had any inspections scheduled or completed. They obviously intended on completing the space but it didn't work out. West Elm is not going to be in that space. They have submitted for permits in #160.

Nice idea! And the glassy exterior would fit the store perfect!

That would make a nice southern anchor... Is there enough square footage in that retail space for an apple store?

That would be a great location. The building's style is even inline with Apple's.

Ok am I blind or isn't there a restroom at City Creek Center? All I could find was one of those single bathrooms ( only one ) on the upper level north east of the Nordstrom plaza. There has to be more I'm sure. Just can't find them.

There are some in the corner of the food court by Chick Filet and I know there are some on the south side of the upper floor of the Macy's block.
