news from Les Bois racetrack... sounds like the new owners are serious about keeping horse racing in the treasure valley with the improvements they made to the facilities:
BOISE -- The owners of Treasure Valley Racing are calling the improvements to their new track at Les Bois Park something that will be a shot in the arm for the local horse racing industry.
They're hoping their new renovations will make their track one of the top racetracks in the northwest.
The new improvements include a completely renovated restaurant, a brand new bar, and expanded seating.

BOISE -- Idaho is about to end a string of nearly 10 Kentucky Derbies without an entry.
The last Idaho-bred horse ran in the 2003 derby. Hagerman's Buddy Gill, with Boise Hall of Fame Jockey Gary Stevens aboard, came from well back to finish 6th.
And this isn't Boise related, but it's still in Idaho and worth mentioning:
Massive Horse Complex on Track for Southeast Idaho
Initial plans have been given the green light to build what is being billed as a "massive horse complex" on the Idaho border.
The Idaho State Journal reports that The Horse Station in Cache Valley would include nearly 170 acres of training and boarding facilities, retail businesses, an equine veterinary center, indoor and outdoor arenas, a hotel and condominiums. The project has an $80 million price tag.
This weekend I'm going to hop over to Dona Larsen, 8th and Main, JUMP, and see what kinds of photos I can get. Great to hear that Dona Larsen is coming along, I also hear Bronco Stadium expansion construction has kicked into overdrive now that Spring football is done.
sunday and wednesday games are the worst from an attendance standpoint for the steelies... except for the wednesday before thanksgiving. those always seem to be popular.
sucks for the steelies, but they'll be back. they always make the playoffs at least.

Trustees at the College of Idaho are expected to announce May 14 that the private liberal arts college will restart a football program that ended in the 1970s. Trustees were meeting May 11 to discuss the idea of the football program, which was first announced by President Marv Henberg in February.
