I vaguely remember that island/peninsula proposal for a tower. The NIMBYs were even more hateful towards development back then. I can't believe that was even proposed - unless maybe, the developers were not from around here.
Do these sorts of discussions happen on other cities forums?
I can't imagine anyone else is as cool as we are. I base this on the fact that we live in the coolest city in the USA IMO. I declare a new slogan..."Only in Austin".
Hey, this should make Jdawgboy happy. I saw a police boat on Lady Bird Lake on Monday with a gas powered engine. They were puttering along under the Pfluger Bridge. I tried to get a photo, but they never came out from under the bridge, but I could see its exhaust. I guess they were patrolling for Memorial Day. There were a ton of boats on the river that day.
