Fascinating photos. I'm very interested in these parts where several civilizations come together, here with Europe and the Slavic world or elsewhere in the Balkans between Europe and the Islamic world. If you haven't already, I highly recommend reading "Eastward to Tartary" (http://www.amazon.com/Eastward-Tarta.../dp/0375502726 ) by Robert Kaplan, describing his travels and observations as he moves progressively eastward from Hungry, through the the Balkans, to Romania, Bulgaria, and eventually to the Caucauses and Central Asia.
The photos of the gypsies/Roma are also tremendously interesting. It is both interesting and sad that more than 1,500 years after migrating from India, they remain such a distinct culture and group of people, a group that clearly suffers from poverty.
