I like when, like, that one street meets that other street in front of, like, that one place, and that one dude is just standing there at the bus stop all, like, "what are you looking at?"

That is what I like about Detroit.

What do you like about (fill in the blank)?

Detroit might have the best architecture of any city I've seen. Only New York and Chicago rival it, IMO.

I love the Renaissance Center, and the fact that some of those great old pre-World-War ll buildings are being restored, and are still standing alongside the brand new skyscrapers, and new sports venues. Also I love that it is right next door to Canada. Windsor is a fine looking Canadian city, to view from either side. The auto industry is still survivng there, hopefully it will be on the upswing once again. What I like most about Detroit, is what was. The music that came from there before, it ended up going to Hollywood. Motown. It may no longer be there currently, but the history will last forever, along with the Hitsville USA museum, and its roots! The music died when it went to LA, but nothing can erase what was there before and is origin.

All the cool angled streets and geometry of the downtown. It creates cool vistas that celebrate the rich architecture.

I've only been once but the people were incredibly friendly for a big type city. We even had a tour guide of sorts as well as a cab that was on call just for us. The cabbie even called me to wake me up for my freakin' flight after he dropped me off at 3am or whatever it was and then he came and got me! That kind of hospitality just doesnt happen in bigger type cities.

Buddy's pizza!

Those pre war downtown behemoths...

This is it for me, as well. I've lived here for three years, and while I love traveling there's something refreshing about coming back to the D and being surrounded by friendly, down-to-earth people again. It's the only big city I've been to where it's possible to strike up a good conversation with pretty much anyone you see in public.

I love that it's right across the river from my hometown Windsor. I love that I get to enjoy the Detroit skyline every day because I live and work in downtown Windsor.
