Oh, great...thank you! It looks similar to that other residential tower nearby...one of my favorites on the river.

I believe that's the crane for 360 W. Hubbard in the background.(?)

K2 height

Don't know the height, but the 19th floor was being poured this morning when I was there.

The building is on schedule to top out the 34th floor in the 3rd week of August.

This is actually the first time that I've bothered to look up a rendering of AMLI, and I was pleasantly surprised after seeing the bunker-like thing under construction. But is it just me, or do many of the windows seem narrower than they were shown in the rendering?

Yeah this actually looks pretty nice

It looks a lot better then the older render.

here is the older render

Also, welcome to 2012: They have a Twitter account just for this project - and it isn't even being delivered for like another year and a half:

Now everyone can skyscraper-geek in real time, by just waiting for their smartphone to "ding." Oh how will I ever get anything done in the future, at the rate technology is progressing.

Bravenewworld, I believe you have the renderings reversed on AMLI. They both look hideous, so it's hard to get too worked up about it, but I think the shinier one is the older one. I believe that this one is the most recent rendering, which also explains why the window openings seem smaller:

The 19th floor of K2 is at 193 feet (measured from Union Avenue).

A very nice photo, but I'm not a fan of the building. Still feels very 60's institutional to me. The massing is decent but the building is fail on everything else.

I like the tower portion and the deco crown, but I'm a little disappointed by the base at this point.

is the tri hotel t/o?

Also, the cladding on the section already up is surprisingly nice. I'll have to see what the rest looks like, but I may have underestimated this one.

For AMLI: puke wins!

For Trio: a pleasant surprise

pretty much no matter how AMLI turns out it's just too much beige in that general area

I'm actually starting to think amli would have been just bad (and not god-awful) had it not been surrounded by a number of equally beige (and far less neohistorical - for better or worse - and more bland) buildings.

Anyone know when the old Staybridge property will get started again? I know they re-issued the permits to change the GC and masonry contractors over a month ago, but doesn't look like anyone has started work yet
