News from deranged over at UT :

"Agent called me and said this project has been delayed until September. The entire design and floor plans have been revamped per request from the city. They want the building to have a more iconic design."

You mean the VUPs? The buying public are generally treated like chumps and morons that are easily exploited. It's a racket.

The design will change to an organic one like the Absolute project in Mississauga as required by the city. It will still be 75 floors.

That's not news...

It's Cal reporting speculation but written as though it is fact.

You will get used to it eventually.

This one was rejected by the DRP, which is unbinding, but will likely result in changes. A full redesign at this point is unlikely but possible. Any references to specific architectural styles or changes at this point is complete conjecture and speculation and should be written as such.

In the coming months we will see to what extent this is changed/redesigned.

I don't like the reduction in height, but those renderings make this look great. I really like the last one Cal posted with both the ICE towers.

What an absolute snooze of a design. If the city thinks this is iconic, I give up.

Wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf ??

Quote:
anyone pondering the current state of toronto’s condo market may want to take note of the rip-roaring success of tridel’s recently launched ten york project.

The 65-storey glass tower — which will rise from a wedge-shaped site at york and harbour sts. — has been regarded as a bellwether, a development whose sales performance this fall would offer an indication of the health of a condo market that some analysts believe has become oversupplied.

of the 600 units at ten york released to date, 532 had been sold as of early november. If the toronto condo market is cooling, “you sure as heck wouldn’t have known that from what was happening at our sales office,” notes jim ritchie, tridel’s senior vice president of sales and marketing.

This one will start soon????

That's pretty amazing. Should start soon, maybe with a height revision upwards. 88 Scott is one that worries me. It's still only 60% sold after about 6 months.

No, I think the sales at 88 Scott are further along than that.

Construction is expected to begin in 2013 for 88 Scott.

I am really surprised that Ten York sold that well. Knowing Tridel, they don't waste any time with construction, so I am sure we can expect this one to start early 2013. They will probably go for a minor variance for an additional 5 floors as well.
