The crane on 8th Avenue will be taken down the weekend of July 14th and 15th. As it's a big and potentially dangerous job if not done right, West 55th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue will be closed for the two days, as they can't close 8th Avenue. It will be a great photo opportunity.

I just enjoy to see the density fill up with towers.
It's just amazing how much has developed over the past several years.
You really get a sense of growth in these recent photos.

Is there some sort of cover over the base with a printing of the surrounding cityscape on it, or is it just really reflective glass? Impressive either way.

Well it's nearly finished. Just cladding and interior work to go. But although it's a great filler it's still one of those many dime a dozen fillers we have in NYC. I remember when a one of a kind in NYC 1000+ TWISTING building was proposed for this very site. Wasted potential in my opinion. The right people couldn't collaborate and get a good job done.
