Ok so I see these giant holes always before creating a large tower, can someone explain why?
The core and the foundations of any supertall(and megatall) must be mounted to the bedrock for overall stability. It's not always necessary or feasible because the Bedrock may be as far as 300 feet beneath the excavation site, but in order to maintain structural integrity that's the strongest way possible.
