They were planted a couple years ago. Some of them took some have not as there was some kinks in the watering system at the beginning. They will be given another shot now that things are sorted, if they don't take then the backup plan of making the trellis attractive pays off.
I would've guessed a juvenile peregrine falcon.
It was very curious and I was able to get within a couple of feet to take that shot, certainly wasn't scared of me.
My cat didn't want anything to do with it, it usally wants a piece of the pigeons though. Someone else has told me it looks like a red tailed hawk. Either way it was pretty cool to see a predator within the city.
