It's amazing to think that on one side was an intricate, highly detailed town square and on the other were dozens and dozens cargo containers!

They were filming something at that 1950's California looking motel on Kingsway last night (near Nanaimo). i don't know why, but I love that motel, I know it wont be around for long, but it has a character that you don't really see anywhere else in our Metro.

There were tons of movie industry trucks and power cables on the street last night, and the block between the Marine building and Guinness tower on the south side was blocked off, and bright lighting was lighting up the sides of the buildings.

I got a flyer that said they are going to film some TV miniseries called Bates Motel a few houses down from me, this week. I am in North Vancouver by the way.

I have driven by this motel dozens of times, but I guess my eyes have always been fixed to that new tower they are finalizing next door. Strange that there has never been a thread or discussion on that tower in here, as it is such an improvement over the old eye-sore Eldorado Motel over there. OMG that old motel looks hideous in the old Streetview pictures...

The Motel looks like the best place to go if you want bedbugs.

I love that old motel! I hope it never leaves, it has a lot of character, and they actually keep the grounds very well maintained.

It is something very unique within Vancouver.

does anyone know what was being done a while back at the empty retail building in surrey on 104 ave? I remember a while back seeing a paramount thing sitting around there. I never did get to stop and ask.

There is no room for anything unique in today's Vancouver. Its all tower-on-podium or all 5-story-woodframe, all the time.

That's an urban view in the end of that commercial from top of that parcade! Which roof-top parcade is that?
