Its hard to point out any one favorite location, because it depends entirely on what you are looking for. As far as urban parks, Prince's Island is by far the best, whereas for wild natural parks its hard to beat fish creek. From an urban experience point of view, Stephen ave at lunch is the best district in the city.

I would agree with that pretty much word for word, and would add Crescent Road for the view.

I had to vote suburbs just to make sure everyone was represented equally.

Two places that I'd say should definately be included on this list are Mission and the zoo.

Had to go with the Beltline as I think it is becoming the most complete community in the city. Stephen Ave would be #2 on my list.

A clean, beautiful river running right through the heart of our City is what truly sets us apart. Everything else can be duplicated.

Well we just had a pretty big celebration that ended on Sunday that also sets our City apart. I guess it COULD be duplicated elsewhere, but not likely.

I'm not sure, but some of the places that come to mind include:

- My theatre (with the right company)
- I've always liked Bowness Park, though not during this period of construction
- Though it is not as high any more, relatively speaking, the top of the tower is still pretty special
- I'd like to say some specific location within the zoo, but I can't think of one at the moment

Kensington and Eau Claire/Riverwalk are probably my favorites. IMO Kensington is the most complete urban neighborhood, with its LRT station, and grocery Store, plus Riley Park and multiple retail options. Once St John's and Pixel are done Kensington will have really upped the amperage.

The Prince's Island/Riverwalk area is fantastic for pure leisure.

I'd also have to give honorable mention to Stephen Ave and Nose Hill. Might as well give honorable mention to Mission, 17th and Inglewood too...their all great places to hang out.

Have to agree. If there's a single place I love bring in Calgary more than anything else, it's on the Bow.

Agreed. That's less than .5% of the year though, so I don't think it counts in this context.

Best view: Crescent Road, Nose Hill, Shagannappi Golf Course, Scotsman Hill, The Calgary Tower, the new SAIT soccer feild, riding the NE LRT past Barlow on a clear day

Best Park: Riverwalk, Prince's Island, Edworthy (especially in autumn), every nook-and-cranny park in the suburbs pre-1990, any of our many bike paths

Best Atmosphere: Stephen Avenue at lunch, 17th Avenue on the first patio day of the year or after a Flames game, floating on the Elbow, any stampede breakfast in any part of the city, [insert favourite Kensington/Inglewood/Beltline/Mission bar/patio/pub], [insert favourite street festival]

It's actually about 3% of the year.

These days my front porch is my favourite place in Calgary, especially with the warm temps and the (finally, normally) low humidity.

In our backyard pool with the kids (sorry, only a kiddie pool - not worth having a full blown pool with the length of Calgary pool season).

I gave my vote to Beltline, but with all the new development underway in Hillhurst-Sunnyside I think it will be an even more complete community when all is said and done.

The somewhat hidden beach in the Weaselhead I share between me, my dog, and the local Calgary gay nudist community.
