Yeah the ANTI Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce is calling. Little heavy on the bombed out sections for my liking, not really a fair representation of the city.

Holy crap! That's some incredible coverage you got there. Many neighborhoods that are off the tourist's radar screen. It's alway nice to see Philly through the eyes and lens of an outsider. Some of those streets I have strolled down dozens of times but you've given them a new perspective.

Bravo!

You're well aware that it's not cupcakes and flowers everywhere in this city.

A lot of Philly slideshows feature copious images of skyscrapers and sidewalk cafes and little else. That is also not a fully accurate representation of the city. However, for someone who has never set foot in this city before one can appreciate the fact that he ventured out beyond the typical spots. 9/10ths of the photo threads in this forum depict either the rough or the glitzy side of places, usually depending on whether or not the photographer is visiting a place, knows it or depending on their personal tastes.

I don't disagree with your POV - Philadelphia has no shortage of rough imagery associated with it out there, a lot of it unnecessary - but Nicetown and Point Breeze is Philadelphia 2012 just like Passyunk Square and Society Hill are.

volguus already touched on this, but puh-leeze. get real dude -- he didn't walk onto some horror movie set.

EXCELLENT coverage, nineties flava! you seriously got around -- i commend you greatly. you were very close to my last home, in fishtown, and you got some of my favorite sites in north philly and kensington, as well as an appropriate share of murals and mosaics. applause to you homie, this is very impressive.

All this thread represents is where I visited in Philly... I wasn't trying to make a statement about the city. It's not my place to make one, I've never lived there. Volguus pretty much covered the gist of what I would've said.

@ Gio and Swinefeld, I greatly enjoyed everywhere I went in Philly... that city has a lot of depth to it. I only wish I had gotten to know South Philly better.

To everyone else, thanks again for commenting.

Unfortunately, I keep getting a lot of error boxes for most of the pics, but as for the ones I can see it looks like another solid slam dunk of a set by Flava!
