Yeah, I will try to this week. I've been meaning to, but work has been busy the last month. You might have to settle for Blackberry photos.

That's not acceptable. You need to have multiple high-res images from many different angles, elevations and viewpoints. If you can't do it you should really hire a professional photographer to take the pictures and post them here.

Great shots Deedub. It's not the most exciting building architecturally but will be a great addition to Kelowna's burgeoning skyline.

Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ngs_in_Kelowna Hey Chadillac, did you make this page? Because if you did,

It turned out way better than I thought - pretty clean-looking. The elevator box on top looks like shite though.

Ya, not too excited about the top or some of the design elements but hey it is not bad... here is the rendering again showing the taller corner completed.

Well it looks like the elevator box is going to be clad still so its not too bad.

It looks like a cheap office building done right. Which it is.

Sounds like this project should have a better chance of happening. Based on the fact it would be a govt. building. It would have to be considerably larger than 100,000 sq. ft. though. as a comparison, MB. Hydro's new[er] office tower holds close to 2,000 employees. It is 600,000 sq. ft. and 24 storys. This would make the footprint approx. 25,000 sq. ft. Therefore, even at 200,000sq. ft. I could see this building between 8 and 14 floors. Depending on the foot print. Look forward to hearing more details as they become public. Also interesting to see another office tower proposed, as Landmark VI is still not finished. Good for kelowna!

Why are the majority of Kelowna's office towers clustered away from the lake? It is my understanding that Kelowna's lakefront has traditionally been its CBD and one of the most desirable places to work and live.

I'd assume it's to accomodate future waterfront apartments and housing. No point in wasting good views on offices.

Graphic showing the location of the new parkades and the subject property where the new Interior Health high-rise will go:

And a couple interesting notes from the Kelowna Daily Courier article on the proposed development.

Quote:
- the city will expand the existing parkade next to the library, building out eastward toward Ellis Street, to add 176 stalls. The city will also build a new, five-level parkade next to Memorial Arena, directly across Ellis Street from the proposed IH building. Total cost of these two projects is $19 million, but they will be funded from reserves and financing backed by future parking revenues, so there is no cost to taxpayers.
Quote:
If all approvals are eventually given, construction of the parkades would start next year. Work on the new office tower would begin in late 2013 or early 2014, with an anticipated completion a year later.
