SoHo Lisgar will be a wall of glass right at the sidewalk

IMG_1765 by rakerman, on Flickr

as a reminder, the front entrance is supposed to look like this

it looks to me like they've conjured up about 2 metres of space in front of the building that simply don't exist

I don't see a cute blonde constantly walking out of the construction site either.

I'm going to assume that this is your first time seeing an artists rendering. Spoiler alert: 99% of the exterior renderings drawn up prior to projects being builts aren't 100% accurate.

I think this is a perspective issue. If you look carefully, that 2 M space is there.

Claridge (Tribeca) also had over a year head start on their construction and they're still not out of the ground.

I actually bought in the CP3 and as well as SOHO Lisgar and have been following both constructions and even though CP3 is much larger and they are building both the foundation for 3 and 4 at the same time (and about 5 levels of parking) SOHO seems to be progressing very well in comparison. They have built up to the 9th floor surprisingly quickly, I am surprised that they pushed back the occupancy to May 2013, but I guess they may take there time with the interior designs... Regardless, nice to see the progress!

Workers are adding height to the crane at this very moment. So far they've added 3 sections. I estimate each section at about 4 meters in height, making for an additional ~ 12m so far... not sure if this is the last section or if they're going higher still.

Update: They put up another one. Not sure if they were going to do more or not, but the workers left in the midst of a torrential downpour.

Here's a pic I took today:

They're nearly topped out - that's floor 16 that's being worked on, which is the highest level with a full floorplate. There is just another one or two floors to go of penthouse or mechanical.

And they already have bricks up to the 9th floor on the west side.

this is a very run-down area, everything is built here is a big improvement... Soho Lisgar doesn't have fancy design but at least it won't age in 10 years

Looking at the most recent pics you've got, and I like the sort of seguay that these smaller scale projects create from the low rise buildings and homes of centretown, to the vertical wall of office buildings to the north...

Windows going in on the north side. Brickwork being done on both the east and west sides (west side shown here is much further along). Sorry, its not the best picture.

Looks like Soho Parkdale already. The glass and brick is not as dark as the original renders, and appear to be very similar if not identical to Soho Parkdale..

All the Soho's look alike, I think that's the point. If they were going to completely change the look, they wouldn't have called it Soho. It's a bran, brands tend to not change the selling features of their products.
But there is a difference, a slight difference. The windows at Lisgar are one piece, at Parkway they have a metal beam about a foot or so from the bottom. Minor difference, but a difference nonetheless.

However, in all of the renderings I've seen (and I've seen quite a few, I've purchased at Soho Lisgar) I clearly remember being able to see into the suite - the walls, kitchen, etc... So I never expected the windows to be tinted, in fact, I can't even think of a condo in the city where the windows are tinted. Regardless, once you think about it, it would defeat the purpose of having such large windows if you tinted them, it would just block the light these windows are supposed to bring in.

Keep the pictures coming though, it saves me a trip to check on the progress in person.

SoHo Champagne is diffrent, so was the original design for Italia. Althought the new design adopts more of the Parkway and Lisgar styles (right angles).
