Unless the design is drastically altered I hope it bites the dust. Keep crappy spandrel balcony wrapped condos out of Yorkville!

Looks like a pretty standard run of the mill condo... Really a shame for such a large building.

Hopefully it gets improved as the process continues.

It's not a square. It looks like the top of an oval, with the same kind of design markers as U Condos down the street.

hmm.

Looks like casa 3 and 4 to me... but maybe you're seeing something I'm not.

Either way I hope their design gets significantly improved over the next few months.

Maybe the design markings are giving me that optical illusion.

On second thoughts it is a rectangular shape, but it does appear to tapper to the top.

Am I mistaken?

Hmm I like it a lot more than the massing but still nothing to write home about.

Pretty much casa with some Christmas tree tinsel falling down the sides!

Mirvish and Gehry partnership will transform Toronto: Hume

I have to say, three new 80 storey towers of such radically elegant design will certainly transform the downtown skyline. Much impressive!

Breaking News

Renderings for the much anticipated redevelopment of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre by Oxford Properties have been released. The project would potentially involve a casino, hotel, new convention centre, retail, residential and office space. There would be four towers in total. They would also build a new park over the train tracks. It looks like the two easternmost towers are close to supertall height, but it's hard to tell from the renderings. Architect is Norman Foster.

Now this is a proposal from a team with the money to back it up

Those towers really do look like supertalls, hopefully. this could be one heck of a project.

Tridel will be launching their sales campaign for 10 York this Saturday so be prepared for a deluge of new renderings and information.

Of note apparently this one will be priced on the cheaper side for the area, another sign of a softening market.

If the Oxford Office towers are indeed confirmed at 326m, then shouldn't we have another thread started: Proposals: Supertalls (300m+)
It would be good to have a few towers under discussion and then construction in there.

We already have the supertall and rumours thread which could very easily be renamed.

I believe that Oxford would like to take their towers to 326 metres but I am not sure who they plan to put in them. That would take a MAJOR tenant, aka one of the big banks, and I'm not sure who they would convince to move.

TD is locked in and CIBC is looking likely to renew at Commerce Court. Scotia's building is veyr much tied to their image so I doubt that too. RBC is the only one I could realistically see moving there, it would tie well with their new digs at 155 Wellington, but then Oxford would be poaching their own tenant which is never good for business.

Will be interesting to see how they move forward with this.

Rumours of two supertalls coming to Oxford Place. 1070 feet each. Foster will design.

Could Manulife (finally) be a possibility?
