ERBIL, Iraqi Kurdistan | Park hotel | U/C

ERBIL - autonomous region of Kurdistan - Iraq.
Iraq is not booming in anyway as it is not safe, except the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region which has been safe and autonomous since the 1991 no-fly-zone by NATO......... the region is working towards independence from chaotic Iraq, Kurdistan was attached to Iraq in 1923 by the Brits and French of that time.

Ive never even heard of this town Erbil. It looks pretty nice and its good to know Iraq is wanting to progress and is doing it, although, Im sure with tons of help from foreign investment and American tax payers dollars most likely.

actually none of the projects are coming out of US tax , mostly are private investors and mostly non-Americans. Kurdistan region is very secure and safe , we Kurds got rid of Saddam in 1991 so when US came they didnt even enter our region . its safe thats why its booming . and this is the capital of the region other cities are Silemaniya , Duhok and Kerkuk (last city is in dispute with Baghdad) , and the region is working towards independence its currently semi-state.

just to clarify a bit more , the region was attached to Iraq in 1923 after the fall of the ottoman empire , by the britis and French without our consent. and its only this region thats is booming , While Arab Iraq is still war torn and not safe for investments.

@Alan131210: it's great to see some stuff from Iraq. It's not a place we see a lot of what is happening in around here.

"Iraq" is not like that its only this autonomous kurdistan region that it is booming. the region is totally independent and has nothing to do with whats going on in iraq.
