Very nice - definitely the premier historic cemetery in Philadelphia. The Inquirer ran a nice article about some of the famous names who are buried here including Wharton, Meade, and Rittenhouse, among others: http://www.philly.com/philly/news/16...html?viewAll=y

If it were possible to be a fabulous cemetery, Laurel Hill is it. It's the only cemetery I know of to have a "Millionaires Row" and it's filled with tons of lovely Victorian motifs. Also the final resting spot of "Harry The K". Truly a (buried) treasure here in Philly!

Lovely! Honestly though, I was expecting more weathering. I see where some bits and pieces have broken off, but I suppose I was expecting more moss and vines and such. The local Victorian cemetery around here seems to be maintained in a state of benign neglect, which lends it a very Gothic air.
