lanterra is still in the process of replacing murano's glass due to the falling glass incident. The original balcony glass was deemed faulty.

Let's hope they do a better job with the glass on this project.

The balconies on the eastside of the project look to be almost completely installed all the way up to the top floors.

Not sure what to say about it overall. Feeling kind of indifferent. Aside from City Hall, Bay above College isn`t particularly inspiring.

It lacks big city class. It sucks the Sutton is being converted and butchered into somthing that looks like the clownish Bay/Gerrard RAW proposal.

I appreciate it's your opinion, but mine is totally the opposite. I like the look of this tower. And I'm glad they're giving Sutton Place a make over. Its concrete exterior is so ugly.

The sidewalks and trees on Bay street are awesome.

So relaxing to stroll down in comparison to Yonge Street.

I was referring to the general feel of Bay north of Dundas and the hideous stacked boxes proposed for Bay/Gerrard as well as the mediocre Sutton Place conversion.

I'm not in love with Burano but I think it's a nice, airy, and sleek addition. Not every building has to be a signature development. I thought the kitchsy palladin windows, brutalist concrete tower, and brassy interior is what made Sutton place so unique and reminiscent of gritty 70's NY hotels.

I really like what Mr. Caltrane says about Bay Street as a more pedestrian friendly place to be, though it really has no 'Boulevard' charm as you find in other big cities. Also Mr. Yaletown Fella is right about Bay above Dundas and it's uninspiring boxes.

I can't accept the idea that budget contraints = uninspiring buildings. City planners, developers and architects have to dream a bit and work a little harder.

If I had the means and were in the business of building, I would really go out of my way to make projects (even on a shoestring budget) that are not only functional, but pleasing to the eye.

Maybe TO, as a youngish and growing big city is just experiencing big city growing pains and lacklustre architecture is just part it.

Sutton Place is one of the coolest buildings on an other wise banal uninspired strip. This street desperately needs all the variation in architecture it can get so standardizing it to fit 2012 aesthetics is a massive step backwards.
