Wink ZAKOPANE by my eyes! (march 2011)

Hi everyone!
Here is my photo thread from the little polish town Zakopane, located in mountains Tatri, on a south of Poland.

I gotta plead ignorance on this one ~ I had no idea Poland had mountains like that. Very nice.

It may not, really... from the map it looks like the peaks are in Slovakia (or the ridgeline itself forms the border, which makes sense). But yeah, I guess the southern border of Poland is a bit like the southern border of Germany, with a bit smaller mountain range and Slovakia in place of Austria/Switzerland.

the highest point in poland is only about 100m shorter than highest point in slovakia.

most of the tatras are in slovakia, true, but poland does have some high mountain peaks down there.

as for the poster who lives near a bar named zakopane, is it the one near ashland and division in wicker park, chicago? there also used to be a restaurant call paul zakopane harnas which sadly closed down. i think the owner may have passed or was too old to run the joint. it had great, inexpensive polish food.
