Everyone we've talked to agrees that the Rockwood and the other building next to it are the ugliest ones on the street. Big brick "projects-style" buildings with no imagination or effort.

At least all the other buildings have some type of aesthetic appeal (or at least made the attempt), but those two look like over-sized schools. And they seem to be taking a long time to finish.

Keep an eye on Hemlock Square. There's a lot across from RBC that looks like it has a double-drive thru. Around this province I can only think of Tim's and MacDonalds with those.

The crane for the Gardens IV came down today, surely it will go up soon on the Gardens V. I snapped another couple photos of the area yesterday and on the weekend.

Yeah I see what your saying, that clearly is going to be a McDonald's with the double drive-thru. I would imagine they would start construction on it soon.

Even better, maybe both. Then I can wash down my Baconator with McDonald's coffee.

Coffee Culture is now open in Southgate village. This is an upscale North American Coffee chain with locations in Ontario and New York State among others. http://www.coffeeculturecafe.com

Also construction on Starboard Drive has started which will connect it's missing gap. They are also working on extending Fleetview Dr and Bosun run. (Yellow Roads on far right of the map)

This area is one of the small remaining puzzle pieces that once finish will mean almost all of the land on the inside of Bi-Hi along Halifax Mainland/Bedford is completely developed.

The Luxor II crane is half up, and there is a new mobile tower crane at the end of Bedros Lane - not sure if this is the one that was on 222 Portland Street or a new one. Photos by me from yesterday morning:

The amount of construction going on in this area is insane.

nine mile circle which is under construction at the corner of Nine Mile Drive and Larry Uteck, has a sign up. It appears Bank of Montreal is opening up here in December. http://www.borisholdings.com/ninemilecircle.htm

On the other side of the bi-hi across from Sobeys, work has started on land that was rumored to be a Superstore.

Also Tim Hortons appears ready to open at Hemlock Square.

The new Tim Horton's at Hemlock Square will have one of the new double-double drive-throughs.

Sorry about the image quality, taken by me on friday.

This one certainly has better proportions than the Waterton Towers (it is slimmer and more stylish).

Is there a rendering floating around of that larger one going up? It is having quite an impact. Very visible from the bridges.
