How come some small cities like Flint and Camden (under 100,000) have more murders than many major cities (i.e. over 500,000)?

Camden has a big time gang problem and is a huge drug distribution point for the mid-atlantic area. Almost all of the business moved out of the city a very long time ago.

Since my last update last month there has been one homicide in Austin which pushes Austin up to 14 for the year.

A woman died from a 30 year old head injury, however her grandmother who had caused the head injury 30 year ago has since died so the case is closed, but has been considered a homicide.

Ernie, I need your help!

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me get the number of homicides made from the beginning of January until the end of june (First half/semester of the year).
I would also need a credible source... a newspaper or preferably a police department.
For the following cities:
East St. Louis
Camden
Flint
Memphis

I'm new to the forums so I don't know if I'm posting this right.

Thank you so very much!

[TL;DR... Need: Jan-Jun Homicides w/source: East st. Louis, Camden, Flint and Memphis]

If anyone can help me. Great if not...Ok

Need: Jan-Jun Homicides w/source: East st. Louis, Camden, Flint and Memphis
Or at least if you can point me in the right direction, help me get someone's contact info or something.
I'm going to use the following numbers (which I got from this forum) for a presentation, I have tons of official sources for the cities my boss asked for except the following:

1. East St. Louis IL / 2010 pop: 27006 /need 2011 pop / murders jan-jun:13

2. Camden NJ / 2010 pop: 77344 / 2011 pop: 77283 / murders jan-jun:26 Decent Source: http://articles.philly.com/2012-08-0...cutor-s-office

3. Flint MI / 2010pop: 102434 / 2011pop: 101,558 / murders jan-jun: 29

4. Memphis TN / 2010pop: 646889 / 2011pop: 652,050 / murders jan-jun: 56

I really don't want someone making questions about the data and having to tell them I got it from a forum, because that will hurt the company's credibility

Ivan, all the numbers I get for Flint come from The Flint Journal on mlive.com or the ABC affiliate ABC12 at wjrt.com. The only problem is that they don't always report homicides or I miss them somehow. Even if you go back through my posts you will see a slight jump of say 22 to 25 without me posting them here. Those two sites are really the only place I know of to look. The city of Flint website is basically worthless with crime data last being updated in 2008 and neither news website keeps a running tally on every article. Sorry to be of no help.

Edit: As of my last post, I tally 42 and though I link a news article to it, like I said, they don't always say the yearly total which is the case with this last one.

This makes me sad. Most of them are gangbangers and degenerates, but still, a lot of them are still young. Jeez...
