The dowdy Jumeira hotel with the arches on the facade (left) needs a total renovation and re-cladding. The old brown building is not worthy of such a prestigious park front location. Same goes for some of those ugly apartments on the right that should be demolished some day. Central Park South should be be a showcase for the city in its entirety.

As for this design, it is rather boring and sterile, but it at least brightens up a dull stretch of Broadway and is a nice break from the endless sea of brown. The base is rather offensive in its angularity and obtrusiveness though and could have been better integrated into the tower.

This is one of the buildings under construction that I like most in the city. Nice addition to the skyline. Nice shots guys!

How about change it to 753 FT / 229.5 M / 68 FLOORS?

It's not a skyline changer like One57 but it does add a little peak to its immediate neighborhood.

I can see it rising from my apartment and I love the height. Naturally I wish it would go even higher or have a spire, but the top box is a cool addition. I'm at a slight disadvantage because 250 W.55th is a little bit closer which makes it look taller in relation to 1715 Broadway than it is. That's part of why I'm so glad for that top box. Has anyone seen any more detail on what the top of this building will look like? I've seen the box in the very vague renderings and some mish-mash in others so it's a mystery to me. Here are a few photos from before the weekend...

It topped out about two weeks ago. Now it's all about filling out.

Nice. Can't wait until glass reaches the setback.

I really wish they would remove that ugly MiMA sign from that black building.
