Strangely enough, I've been just about everywhere in Ontario, but this was my first time in North Bay. Now Timmins is the only sizable place in Ontario I've never been to (and as I said earlier, I will likely never go to because it's waaaay up there).

Thanks for the replies

Glad you could apply your photographic skills to "The Bay".

Nice pics.

This is indeed the gaetway to the north; I always stop here on my way to the north pole.

for a town of about 40-50,000 people, you don't really expect to see a lot of pedestrians on the streets.

great pics of the North Bay! You should definitely check out Timmins too. It's a pure mining town. I remember seeing gold mines lined up along the highway while driving just outside the city.

These pics might have been taken early in the morning or on a Sunday. North Bay is my hometown and there are usually a lot more people about than what is shown in these pics. The city proper population is 54,000, closer to 60,000 when all the college/uni students are in town.

Shots were taken around 8 to 9am on a Friday. A smaller city like this usually isn't bustling with people. There were people around but when there are only a few I try to avoid them in the photos. There is quite a bit of tourism around North Bay, including a long strip of 60s motels along the beach. If I pass through again I'll take some photos.
