Give the option to draw out municipal boundaries so that you can set different tax rates and offer different services in different areas, and get away from the "every city is a square" problem that has affected all previous Simcitys.
prolly be simcity 6 and that will be out in 2021

But it is the degree of control that plopping gives you that allows you to make the most realistic cities.

MTE, seeing them plopping buildings is what scares me. But I'm very disappointed with the architecture of the buildings in the game. Everything is so plain and cartoon-ish. We still have a long ways to go before it comes out so hopefully they change some things.

In all the interview videos from E3, the developers/producers kept pushing the idea of making the game more 'accessible', at least in the way you see information about your city. I get nervous with talk like that.

I've been playing Sim City 3000 since I got it for my birthday in 1999. I never upgraded for some reason, but I may be ready to by the time this comes out. Do you think it'll have less horrifically idiotic citizens? I loved SC3, but the people living in my towns would always demand 0% taxes and a welfare state.

Real people in the real world demand 0% taxes and a welfare state. If anytihng, SimCity 3000 was too realistic.

I've played the new Sim City. A couple of things:

There are a bunch of different options for roads, including two-lanes, four lanes, avenue (four lanes with a median), and, most excitingly, four lanes with a light rail/tram median.

The devs are talking about adding in a style of road with bike lanes, so that they can show that "Sim City is at the forefront of modern urban planning".

As far as I could tell, there were no options for low, medium, or high density. Just options for zoning. I could be wrong about this one.

There are no more individual pipes. Pipes are automatically laid down with roads.

Graphics look great.

You can't link two cities with rail, or road, but you can have different cities help each other on funding massive projects, or share electricity or water.

No teraforming.

There is heavy rail, but sadly no elevated rail.

No mod support yet, but the devs said that they will add it in later, as they realize how important the mod community is.

I'll add more things as I remember them. Overall though, I really loved the demo, and thought it was fantastically fun.

i saw also roads with 6 lanes on some pics on the website. i also read that the density of the zoning has something to do with the size of the street. if you place a zone at a 6 lane road the buildings could be taller than a zone at a small street. the thing with the pipes is unimportant because in SC4 the pipes were not laid to every house, the make a blue field and all buidling in this field had water. im sure that it will be possible to connect the cities together with streets, railways...

but i rally hope that they will made a highway like in SC4 and a subway.

Basing density on road width is a terrible idea, and will really ruin the game if that's what they do.

FYI, there are mods for ground light rail in avenue and road medians for SC4.

I didn't see anything on basing density on road width. In fact, I didn't see anything on density, period.

Yeah, I really hope that rumor isn't true. That would almost be enough to make me not buy the game. Higher densities do not automatically equal more cars.

Ok i know there is a mod for light rails in SC4, but if we talk about SC4 without mods SC4 is not soooo good how everybody speaks about it.

In SC4 the subway is just like a tube which do you connect with the stations. every station needs a 1x1 lot. the elevated subway is not so bad and you can connect them together. but in the new simcity they make maybe first just a light rail, ferry, railway and bus but they make that much more better than in SC4. in SC4 the bus station was just a 1x1 lot which you place near a street.
in the new simcity in will be possible to place the bus station into a street.
but its also possible to make a bigger bus terminal.
its just a example i think the make those things very good and complex.
