Windows would look better, I'll give you that, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Like I said, it's basically an alley. I'm a lot more interested in the other sides of the building.

I've seen retrofit buildings with windows and then a blank wall immediately behind (used for things like self storage, also incompatible with windows). Then the blank wall is a canvas for lighting effects. I can't think of why something like that would be impossible here.

Probably because it's more expensive.

Ya'll love telling other people what to do with their money.

Piedmont Hospital expansion is coming - unfortunately we will loose another midcentury modern building.

The fundamental premise of development regulations is that preventing someone from putting up a monstrosity increases property values for neighbors via positive externality. And besides that asking for enhanced wall treatments is actually relatively small potatoes in the world of planning and zoning restrictions.

Can you imagine some of the awfulness we would have with no regulations?

Many if not most federal, state and local regulations can be eliminated due to lack of cost effectiveness. I mean, cost to taxpayers and the overall economy.
Armstead Place wouldn't benefit from fake fenestration.

It's usually up by now, one way or the other. Maybe there's last minute changes.

Deconstruction of the building at 880 West Peachtree has started. Pictures not so good quality, but they have a huge pile of debris in the old pay lot, and in the employee lot they have a few windows busted out.

Yes- there will be a service access as well as a new "road" through the project that will require the wall to be taken down to accommodate the underground parking.
