From this angle it shows that the Hotel is not completely "square".
Looks like there is a "courtyard" type of design, with the back section meets the front section. That's a surprise.
Years from now, after this is completed, I'm sure people will be asking, what was on this location before the hotel....another parking garage..UGH

Amazing photos by TallCoolOne

Quoted by TallCoolOne >>> Yeah... the craftsmanship of this compared to the Bellevue.... ugh

My feelings, exactly. If you check out or Google the Bellevue, it would make you gasp at the detailed architecture. They just don't build or design them like this anymore, sadly.

I really don't think that this one is that ugly. I'd put it at a 5.5/10.

The problem is that it's a 5.5 surrounded by 8+ buildings. It's not terrible but the location makes it stick out like a sore thumb.

This building is certainly odd looking but I don't think it looks cheap or crappy.

It's a midblock building, though. And the corner parcel should still be developable. I bet it'll completely blend in, in time.

I could be wrong, but I think I recall reading somewhere (probably here) that the old Perch Pub building on the corner was part of this development and is not going to be developed anytime in the near future.

Also, working against it being developed - giant, profitable billboard.

The renderings imply an add on to the roof of Perech Pub and a new facade. If the facade was updated for the hotel and the Pub, and the brick looks nice, I think that'd go a long way to improving this.

For me the windows of this project brings it down. Look at the renderings and then look at the actual result. The light grey paneling between each window (not the to be confused with the white/beige paneling) just seems ugly to me.

Yeah Perch is part of this development - my guess is that they'll demo walls on the 2nd floor between the 2 buildings and use that large open area (Perch was a big venue) for event space/ballroom/restaurant, etc.

Overall, the exterior wall curtain looks decent and interesting. A definite asset on Broad St.

^ That shot gives a better view of the Locust Street facade than I've seen before. It looks more interesting than I thought it did based on earlier photos.

Del Frisco's Grille to open in Cambria Hotel on Broad St.

Quote:
Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse – whose location at 15th and Chestnut Streets is one of the busiest restaurants in the state – will open a second restaurant about three blocks away.

Del Frisco’s Grille – a notch more casual than the Double Eagle brand – is setting up adjacent to and within the 222-room Cambria Hotel & Suites on Broad Street, just north of Locust Street – in a former parking garage.

The company in its press release announced the location as “the corner,” but it will not take the space formerly occupied by Perch Pub and Varalli. That assemblage of properties is still being marketed.

Del Frisco’s says it will offer seating for 230 people in the main dining area, with a private dining room accommodating 35 people, as well as patio seating for 30 people fronting Broad Street. Opening is expected in 2018.

Nice score for this spot, I think.

I like that patio seating on Broad is a priority.

Good news and all, but can someone please explain to me what the hell "adjacent to and within" means? Is partially within the new building?

I think it will be partially in the Cambria Hotel retail spot, and partial in the red brick building next door. The corner spot where Perch Pub used to be is still on the market.
