If you compare the construction to the height of 220 CPS from aerials, it's pretty clear CPT is around or slightly over 500 feet now. 1/3rd of the way there from what I can tell. Looks like they raised the forms in the last 48 hours as well. That brown building you always see to the left from street level at the front of the building, how tall is that one for comparison?

Damn, this is really rising now. Construction pace appears to have accelerated.

Wasn't the building on Broadway supposed to be integrated in the tower and landmarked?

Only the facade, which still stands.

The skyline will be quite different in a couple years. 111 West 57th to the left and 220 Central Park South and Central Park Tower to the right.

This looks a bit depressing - I wish developers were required to use such vast, empty wall space for large-scale art installations.

Or at least make the cantilever blend in a bit more.

From a skyline perspective, at least it's not as visible unless you are looking at it from the angle of the rendering or on the street next to it. But it's not a tower-ruining blight really. It is there, and it's somewhat annoying, but I think the rest of the tower makes up for it. And we still got a long way to go.

Just compare post #4698 to the rendering in #4696 for an idea of status. Use 220 CPS as a reference point.

The biggest impact IMO from a skyline perspective is looking at it from NJ and from Northern Manhattan (think crossing the GWB for example). I could just imagine its impact relative to 432 Park from those angles/locations.
