JBG, EYA plan 17.5 acres of mixed-use near Wiehle-Reston East

"JBG is teaming with two other developers to turn a stretch of parking lots and office buildings into 1.6 million square feet of mixed-use development near the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station.
The development application, recently accepted by the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning, seeks to transform the 17.5-acre parcel east of Wiehle Avenue and south of Sunset Hills Road into residential, retail, an independent senior living center and park space, among other uses.
JBG (as 1831 Wiehle LLC for this project) will partner with Bethesda-based EYA and The Chevy Chase Land Company. The application says the project will involve consolidating several parcels, beginning with 1831 Wiehle Ave., located across Wiehle from the Metro station. The development will take up several blocks and include current office buildings at 1861 Wiehle, and 1860 and 1840 Michael Faraday Drive as it moves to the east..."
