More on the Fontainebleau:

Things Are Changing With The Big Blue Eyesore

In a press release, Witkoff says the property will no longer be called Fontainebleau. The new owners are referring to the property as 2755 Las Vegas Boulevard South. The company that ends up operating the property (more on that shortly) will probably give it an official name.

When originally planned, Fontainebleau was to open as a property of condominiums and hotel rooms. The developer will finish the building as a casino-resort with nearly 4,000 hotel rooms. There are no plans to sell condos according to the NY Post.

================

Witkoff is a developer, real estate agency, and investor. They aren’t a casino operator but do have almost 10 hotels and mixed use properties in their portfolio. It appears as though the new owners might want to finish construction and sell the property in a couple of years to a casino operator.

Plans for the old Golden Palm site (from the Design Cell Architecture site)

Would like to have seen something a bit taller like the original plans (but better design)

Palace Station expansion update from Vital Vegas:

Quote:
There’s been a flurry of activity at Palace Station in recent months, including the demolition of the crime scene that sent multiple murderer O.J. Simpson to the slammer.

While demolition is fun to watch, it’s even more fun to see new things rise from the rubble. Palace Station now boasts a new structure, and we’ve got the pics.

The new structure is adjacent to Palace Station’s new porte cochere. We asked what the new structure is, but got no official response.

Chatting up Palace Station staff, we hear blueprints refer to the building as a “fight arena,” but a more likely use will be for convention space.

The video mentions the tower has increased in height so it roughly matches the Fountainbleau....

I have no idea where the old hotel room is. Is that where they used to be? Is that going to be monorail extension?

Will this become the Nationals AAA affiliate, since the Mets recently purchased the Syracuse franchise?

I believe a bunch of deals expire following the 2018 season. The Nationals would probably try and find a new team closer to D.C.

Yes, could be. If they relocate to DC. They will find a new stadium for Spring training. They don't have go to Florida anymore.

I cant tell. But will the tower be on the strip side or will the arena be on the strip side?

and will it be just a hotel or a hotel/Casino mix?

The last time I was in Vegas, I saw this. I was SOOOO Happy. My biggest beef with the Wynn when it was built was how it had zero interaction with the strip. It became an island on its own, ending the flow of pedestrians northward on the strip. Now this, along with resort world, will help push people northward.

And whats going on with the Boring Alon project? Last time I was there, I didn't see anything going on with it and it was slated to open next year ??? I kinda hope its dead for something bigger and better but at the same time I just want it done to continue the build up of the north end.

The Arena is on the strip side. I don't know if there is a Casino element, but it would be unusual if there where not.

The Alon project is canceled.

Resorts World gets closer to Reality

Resorts World gets closer to Reality:

"The company today announced it hired a construction manager; last week, the Clark County Building Department approved multiple permits and applications for the project; and its president, Edward Farrell, said work is being done to ready the site for further construction."

"Resorts World broke ground in 2015 and is scheduled to be completed in 2020"

"If people took a peek at the site, Farrell said, “they would see a bit of demolition work going on, primarily steel and concrete that was part of original design that’s not part of our design.”

"After being hired in May, Farrell said the design of the project was moving away from its original traditional ancient Chinese theme to a more modern but still Asian concept."

3rd world cities? Totally absurd. After living in NYC, Atlanta, and LA...I’m not saying you fit this model person, but typically it’s the non educated and low income that makes those type of statements.

Just my experience.
