I was hoping to see Boeser and Horvat playing on the same line. Oh well. In any event this is going to be a long season for the Canucks. I'm hoping Boeser challenges for rookie of the year, and Horvat makes another step forward in his game. Otherwise not much to get excited about with this team... except when it comes draft time. We are due to get a lucky break and get in the top 2, where there are very high quality players.

Three reasons to be happy tonight:
1) Flames win
2) Oilers lose
3) McJesus goes pointless

And then the Jets beat the Oilers and hold the second coming to one point?

Calgary winning in Anaheim after 13 years. That's insane for a division rival. What is the final tally over that time?

Think it was 30 straight losses going back to the playoffs in 2006, and was 25 in the regular season alone going back to 2004. Completely ridiculous that can even happen, very glad it's over. Anaheim is a team I expect to start to fall back a bit, Getzlaf and Perry are getting older now and I don't think the young guys are quite on the level they were. The Ducks will still be a very good team, but I think their dominance of the Pacific is over. Corey Perry actually fought last night, couldn't believe what I was seeing!

With an ugly game but it's nice to get the first win.

SkahHigh, cry me a river. I started supporting Nashville at the start of last season for obvious reasons that are completely UNRELATED to their performances. What had Nashville done at that point to make me a bangwagoner... a couple of 2nd round playoff exit?

Just got back from Nashville after a crazy weekend of Vanderbilt's homecoming and the Preds home opener. That city knows how to party and the number of Preds jerseys around town is awesome to see. Talked to a bunch of people who admittedly only started watching a couple years ago but can talk pretty knowledgeably about the roster and even some of the other teams in the league. Even saw Giroux, Couturier, Simmonds, and Hextall partying on the strip

Cool to see a southern city embrace the sport so much. Would definitely recommend a trip for any fans to go down when their team is playing and make a weekend of it.

Vegas with more goals in one home game than the Habs in four.

Everybody here is talking about their canadian team and you come here talking about how Nashville plays when EVERYONE knows you were a die hard Habs fan. Sorry but many just don't give a shit about how the bandwagon is treating you.

P-s: Nashville is my second favorite team (since way before PK) and the Habs/Bergevin piss me off, but you won't see me here talking about the Preds

Didn't see much of the game last night, but Jagr didn't look out of place, and the guys are playing really well! Mike Smith has been unreal so far, I was nervous about him after he struggled in preseason, but he's been fantastic through 4 games!

On Thursday Winnipeg Jets was in town with their young Finnish superstar Patrik Laine.

Teams enter the ice.

Canucks didn't play badly, but they had hard time scoring.

Jacob Markström couldn't help but wonder how Winnipeg managed to score four times.
