There was a complete lack of news about this event until it happened. Which is shocking considering that I read the local news every day. I was with my family at Kingway Garden Mall, if I knew about this parade I would have brought my family over to take a look.
I've seen some online complaints about the late start, lack of music and poor quality of the parade.
My one gripe about this was that they closed 108 St south of Jasper Ave at 2:30 PM and a couple of tow trucks showed up. That's 3 hours early, at the end of the parade route! I was at Monument for a snack and my car was parked on the other side of 108 St. There were no "don't parking" signs when I arrived.
As for getting the word out, that all boils down to advertising and such.

It definitely does need a cleaning. and maybe, install the solar panels on the roof like they had planned to do years ago. (they planned to use the panels to heat the building).

^ AIMCO picked up the old Allstream. They are fitting that up and moving there, Pulling out of their 8th street location.
I mean, for what Dream sold it for they practically had to buy it.
As for the old Enbridge Centre, all these building owners are going to the city asking for tax breaks to retrofit their buildings, and the city is not biting. Too bad for the empty buildings but that's what you get when you invest zero in your assets while cashing the lease cheques. Expect more buildings to end up like this. I can't see the old building going residential anyways, terribly suited for it and with the glut of stock out there probably not viable at the moment
