Might depend whether or not it's also more profitable than the Safeway in University Heights. There's 3 grocery stores in such close proximity there, that unless Safeway is the busiest between itself, YIG and Coop, it could be a way to differentiate itself from those other guys.

Depending how far into its lease the Safeway in Market Mall is, that could also be a possibility. That location never got the last Safeway remodel (correct me if I'm wrong). To the south of it is a brand new Sobeys in Stonebridge, and to the north is a newly renovated Sobeys on 8th.

New Faces, New Places: There's room to grow for Once Upon A Child

John Grainger, Saskatoon StarPhoenix
December 16, 2017

When your business needs to double its size, you know things are going in the right direction.

That’s the case for Cory Henderson, franchise owner of Once Upon A Child. He and wife Lorie were forced to find bigger digs after the business outgrew its Forest Grove location on 115th Street.

The new space on 105th Street in Sutherland is 10,000 square feet, almost double the space it occupied in Forest Grove. It was there for nearly three and a half years after outgrowing another location on Gray Avenue.

I wonder if Zara there on the corner of 20th and 1st is a for sure go? Why else would they include the brand name and everything like that? I don't think Cushman & Wakefield could just add that in otherwise??

I'm crossing my fingers that the Sears building and the proposed Zara one will get the immediate go ahead. The rest... I'll keep dreaming.

The mock-up said Lara. It's actually referring to Laura Secord's new chocolate clothing store concept. Should be an exciting new attraction for downtown.

Over the holidays some family told me that they heard we are getting a Swiss chalet somewhere in the north end as well as an olive garden somewhere by the new Costco. Not sure if it's true but thought I'd share regardless.

Don't know if this had been previously reported, but the Tony Roma's on Circle Drive has shut down.

Maybe the city will purchase that land to tear down and save as to re-design that overpass so they can decrease traffic congestion in that area down the road. (I wish. pretty sure I have a better chance of winning that 60 million jackpot from 2 weeks ago if I bought my ticket today) It would look pretty blank and aweful for a long while. Travelodge isn't going anywhere soon.

Saskatoon's first Marshalls store to open in fall 2018

Construction is underway on Saskatoon’s first Marshalls department store, which is expected to open next fall at a new shopping centre in the city’s Rosewood neighbourhood.

The off-price department store is being built as part of the second phase of Arbutus Properties Ltd.’s Meadows Market retail development, the first stage of which was completed in 2016 and includes Costco.

Because coffee in the city is more than just Tim's and Starbucks.

I've tried pumping the tires of 'back to coffee beans' for a while, so it's cool seeing them get some recognition.

The second half of this article has a good write-up about Shift, the new restaurant in the Remai Modern.
