SLC International Airport in top 10% globally for on-time performance, one of only six in U.S.

Lee Davidson - Salt Lake Tribune https://www.sltrib.com/news/politics...ional-airport/

Salt Lake City International Airport has got the punctuality thing down, it seems.

It is one of only six U.S. airports — and the busiest among them — to earn a top five-star rating for on-time performance over the past year.

The airport saw 86.5 percent of its departures and arrivals occur within 15 minutes of scheduled times, according to the flight-information company OAG for the period of June 2017 to May 2018. The data include canceled flights...

...Salt Lake City is the busiest airport among five-star U.S. airports, handling 243,683 operations — takeoffs and landings — a year. Honolulu was second with 156,650.

To think that Trax could have been in the Welcome Center and been indoors and between the car rentals and the parking garage.

Looking at it, I think it would have been worth the money and I wonder, is there time to still add it if SLC wanted it? They could always use the 40/40/20 sales tax money for the funding. Since they haven't done any work on the Trax portion, nor the portion connecting the parking garage to the terminal building, I would think that the change order wouldn't disrupt too much and the cost would still be relatively cheap, if desired. The engineering was already done since it was in the original design.

The virtual walk through just shows how much we are missing and in this case, I think this is money that should be spent for both the travelers experience but also to show the commitment to transit.

As of today they have been rebranded as the Airbus A220.

Because delta is phasing out their md80’s with 737/a320 as the replacement (cs100 is only about 100 seats whereas their md80’s are about 150) and doesn’t seem to be replacing their 717’s anytime soon, are the new planes purely for growth? If so, I wonder how much of that would be concentrated at SLC due to them being based here.

Frontier to begin Ft. Myers-Naples RSW to SLC

Frontier Airlines will be adding Southwest Florida Intl. (Ft. Myers-Naples-Cape Coral) to SLC starting November 16. I don't know if this route will have the required number of passengers to work but here's to hoping!

Update on Delta expansion and growth in SLC. Probably do not expect any more major expansion from Delta in SLC until the new terminal is complete in a couple years. Delta is saying that they have run out of room but went on to say that the next set of growth from Delta will happen out west and that SLC will play a role. Also any expansion out west from SLC, SEA, and LAX will compliment each other. Expansion in the mountain west region was specifically mentioned.

This has been the plan for years now. They are reducing / stagnaging connecting capacity to allow O/D to continue to grow and will reinstate that capacity along with new growth once the airport capacity begins to increase.

He's a troll. Look how many posts he has. Then look at his user name. He's trying to copy the other San Diego Honolulu, but user name is a bit different no space in San Diego). He's using the same picture and everything. Lame attempt at being lame.

Thanks for the photo update. Any way you can downsize those? They are so big that you only get a small portion of the actual photo without having to scroll up and down or left and right.

I still think the terminal frontage looks way to small for a major airport. Seems like there will be major traffic issues, even with two levels.

I tried, but the version of BBcode these clowns are using does not allow for resizing. I also don't have another location to host them. Sorry. You can take your page magnification down to 50% and see them.

Doesn't anyone have a desk or laptop with a zoom feature?? Just take down the size...It only takes a couple of seconds.
