The Eastside portion is definitely the most popular. It directly connects to Piedmont Park, passes by Ponce City Market, and is a magnet for half the best restaurants in the city. You can also get some decent skyline views from the bridge over North Avenue.

The Northwest portion is short and is almost entirely surrounded by woods, which makes an interesting juxtaposition to the other segments.

I haven't been on the Southwest portion yet, but from photos, it seems to have a combination of both quiet residential segments and denser areas. There hasn't been as much development as on the Eastside Trail (yet), but Lee + White has attracted a couple of breweries and food vendors.

Absolutely HUGE.

Now we just need the Beltline and MARTA to give us an update on transit via the feds. The silence is deafening.

Apparently, the purchase price was around $26 million for 4.5 miles, which includes a spur to connect to the Oakland City MARTA Station.

Not to shit stir, but the purchase price was $5.8 Million an acre. However, the CoA sold the Summerhill land for $425,000 and Summerhill is within a mile of the Beltline.

HUGE news and win for the new mayor, KLB. IMO, if she keeps funding BeltLine acquisition and advocating the city's new transportation projects across town (BeltLine, BRT, streetcars), her contingency will grow and doubters will become supporters.

From a general standpoint, seems like a fair deal, considering the short term T-SPLOST had $66 million to BeltLine ROW acquisition per:

$66 million for the Atlanta BeltLine, which will allow the BeltLine to purchase all the remaining right of way to close the 22-mile loop;
$75 million for 15 complete streets projects;
$3 million for Phase 2 of the Atlanta Bike Share program;
$69 million for pedestrian improvements in sidewalks; and
$40 million for traffic signal optimization.

Now to close out the Northwest and north portions of the trail!

It does say "Funds 50 FT positions." So I think its clear the salary and benefits budget items is FT staff only.

Benefits are itemized in another section in my comment above. $108k/employee is obnoxious even including executive pay. That’s high for private industry.

I thought your question was whether it included any part time staff. Doesn't appear to. That's all I was answering. And I don't find the avg. salary to be obnoxious. They're spending about 10% of the annual budget on staff. Just for comparison sake - .25 mile of construction on the EST next year costs more than the entire staff salary.

Atlanta BeltLine Inc. picked Marietta-based Heath & Lineback Engineers Inc. to to provide design and engineering services for the Northeast Corridor Trail.

This sector of the 22-mile loop connects the intersecting trails of PATH400, North Fork Peachtree Creek (via the Cheshire Farm Trail), and South Fork Peachtree Creek. The Northeast Trail generally runs between Monroe Drive and the MARTA Lindbergh Station, north of Lindbergh Drive.

West End’s Lee + White project gears up for next round of openings

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...-for-next.html

Quote:
Lee + White, an adaptive reuse project along the Atlanta Beltline’s Westside Trail, is gearing up to welcome its next round of tenants — new locations of ASW Distillery, Wild Heaven Beer and Hop City, as well as new brewpub Banyan Roots Brewing Co.

ASW Distillery just filed plans in Atlanta for the build-out of its second location, which will take almost 13,000 square feet at Lee + White. It could cost around $200,000, according to the permit.

“We should have barrels moving into the space by September,” said Chad Ralston with ASW Distillery. But he said the team is unsure when the tasting room will open, as that’s “a more lengthy permitting process.” (Read all about ASW Distillery’s plans for the project here)

Hop City Craft Beer & Wine is close to filing for its permits, said Ben Hautt with Stream Realty Partners, the Dallas–based developer of Lee + White. (Read more about Hop City's plans here)

Wild Heaven Beer filed its permits earlier this year. It could open its new facility this fall. (Read more here)

And Banyan Roots Brewing Co. hopes to kick off its construction in August, said Tim Schiavone, head brewer and director of brewery operations. His goal is to have the 18,000-square-foot brewpub open by January. (Read about Banyan Roots' story here)

Atlanta Beltline officials seek to acquire a new two-mile segment in Westside

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...ire-a-new.html

Quote:
CSX Transportation Inc. has filed a federal notice to abandon an approximately two-mile section of inactive rail known as the “Kudzu Line, which connects neighborhoods such as Washington Park, Howell Station and Knight Park.

BeltLine officials want to use the Kudzu Line as a interim hiking trail.

They could complete the purchase of the segment in a matter of weeks.

Brian McGowan, president and CEO of the Atlanta BeltLine Inc. didn’t mention the Kudzu Line explicitly, but said, “There will be another real estate transaction that we are trying to complete by the end of the month.”

McGowan added that he hoped a deal could be completed before he leaves the BeltLine in mid-August for an economic development position in Seattle, Wash.

If I’m not mistaken, this should connect the existing Westside trail essentially past Bankhead station to the active rail corridor south of Blandtown. Westside may be ripe with trails soon enough! And a good argument to have the beltline LRT be built throughout the Westside
