Any rumours circulating about the adjacent property between Hess and Caroline? Haven't heard anything for years. That's a big one for me. That and James N and King William.
There were plans for a shopping plaza in 2010(?) I think. Would've been a suboptimal use of the land but would've been a much better use than crumbling parking lot. Those plans seem to have fallen through.
I recall that, yes, though I'd forgotten how long ago that was - wow. Yeah, and Shoppers and an LCBO isn't the best, most inspirational use of that lot.
I'd like to see a decent hotel with, of course, space for restaurants and cafes. I feel like we need to off-set the bars and clubs of Hess a little - it's become a bit ghettoised...
Would be great if Vrancor got its hands on that parcel and kept pace with growing their cluster of investment. One of the few that keeps on delivery new content to fill these forums.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Vranich has proposed for the lot directly N of this current building on George.
I assume that a 7-storey podium will be included with windows on the E,N and W facades kind of like this....
From my view towards the downtown from McMaster, I will no longer be able to see Stelco tower, sad but a sign of progress. I'll try to get and post a picture one day.
