Shoring takes time not necessarily just digging. It would be over efficient for a site like this.

Honestly.

Believe it or not most excavation companies have been in the business for decades and know a lot about excavation... it's literally all they do.

But if you think they're all morons and have never heard of a conveyor belt, go ahead and start a company and run them all out of business.

No kidding!! And the contrast with First Baptist Church makes it all that more "insane" (in the positive sense)

That excavation mound is quite elaborate. Does it have a purpose or is he just showing off?

Its to meet step back proportions for the ramps width required before shoring, railings, etc would have to be used.

There he goes again! (the excavator). He either as time to kill or he's a perfectionist on these mounts, either way, I like like it.

There's probably a boring explanation for it, like reducing erosion and creating a stable platform for removing soil, but yeah, it looks a bit obsessive!

Probably for stability.
It reminds me of a step pyramid.

(When looking back on this thread was wondering what happen to 'Red wine lady' Dimswitch. I haven't see her on this or other threads lately.)

I'm still kicking around, just nothing to get excited about lately, but while I'm here, why does this page say The Butterfly is "proposed" when it's obviously listed as U/C elsewhere? i.e. City Diagrams page has it U/C and if you have recently looked at site, it's clearly U/C.

Technically they are de-constructing something right now. Once they actually start constructing a building the status will be changed.
