Sorry, not the greatest pictures but best I could do with my phone from the passenger seat of a moving car. An update from Saturday:

Totally buried , wonder how they will make their presence known on this very busy (visual and traffic infested), street.

The suites are for extended stays, so drive-by's would only be a small fraction of their customers base. Plus the internet should help.

TBH, I wasn't even thinking about drive by , just the frustrated traveller who can't find their hotel on the first night. Agree , once they are there , should be nice , set back from the street.

I was thinking the same thing, it is strange to be set back behind the main street. You can kind of see it, but typically hotels locate in very simple locations to find.

It's on one of the most heavily trafficked streets in the city - I am sure people will find it - and people don't generally visually look for a hotel - they put in their phones "hotel close to x location" and find it that way.

5 things to know about the new Marriott hotel on Hamilton Mountain
https://www.thespec.com/business/202...espec_business

By Mark Newman
Hamilton Mountain News

Work on the $20 million, four-storey TownePlace Suites by Marriott hotel at 1195 Upper James near the Linc began in the spring of 2019. The project is a joint venture between the Mississauga-based Kothari Group and the Sigma Group from Oakville.

Hamilton Community News recently went on a tour of the site and we have five things you should know about the project so far.

1. Almost finished

Construction is about 85 per cent complete. Work is continuing the ground floor with painting, flooring, wallpaper and furniture installation still to be done. Most of the work is being done by tradespeople from the Hamilton area.

2. Bookings, bookings

The hotel is slated to open on Nov. 10 and more than 1,500 room nights have been booked for things like weddings, sports tournaments and other events.

3. Stay a while

The hotel is aimed at extended stay travellers with the average stay three to five days. Each room has a full kitchen. The 125 guest rooms include one- and two-bedroom suites. All suites range in size from 334 to 450 square feet.

4. Bring your dog

All 17 rooms on the first floor will be pet friendly-hypoallergenic with vinyl flooring.

5. Amenities for guests, jobs for locals

The ground floor will also feature a pool, fitness room, meeting area and outdoor patio. The new hotel is expected to create up to 35 full-time jobs.

The Courtyard Marriott across the street is set back as well, behind a cemetery and a bunch of trees.

It is now opened and seem to be quite full judging by the front lot and the dozens and dozens of OPP cruisers parked out back and side.

I think it can go to completed.
