It is Level 17. Deck framing on Level 18 is just getting started.
There is basically no Level 2 (parking level) and there is officially no Level 13 (weird superstitious reasons I guess).

Years ago for a team building exercise which was a scavenger hunt. One of the items was to take a picture in a elevator with a 13th floor. It was hard but there are a few with that floor number.

Amenity Level Pour

They poured the eastern 1/4 of the amenity level (floor 19) overnight.

It would seem so. The footprint from here on up will be smaller. The building should start rising faster from this point.

I was driving North towards downtown on the S 1st bridge thinking how much this will transform the view crossing the bridge, which is already gorgeous. The skyline is going to look breathtaking as you enter downtown.

Couldn't agree more. I'm glad the apartment building the block south of The Republic is short enough so that we'll have a great view of The Republic coming up S. 1st.

The sense of being frickin' huge is really strong when you're on the street next to it. 6X, which is also huge, seems slightly less imposing somehow, maybe because of the different tiers, maybe just because it's done and covered with glass. Either way, The Republic will absolutely transform the western half of our skyline, and will be a bit like the Chrysler building in NYC -- not the tallest tower, but definitely recognizable and unique in its own right.

They’ll need to raise the cranes very soon.

11/3/23

- Poured 2nd quarter of Amenity level 19 this morning.
- Garage elevator core is complete and they removed the rising forms and truss from the core. That's the 1st of the 5 main elevator shafts to be completed since it only serves the garage levels
- Lots of unique column and formwork being done on this level. The building outline is emerging and several columns are angled to meet the office tower outline that will rise starting above this level.

It's almost 1am and they're still working tonight on a concrete pour, even through the weather.

I noticed the strip of lightning they have on the northside was lit green Tuesday evening when I was walking by. At least they were smart enough to set up lightning that can change colors. Not really that difficult to do these days...

Hopefully they have lighting on the south facing side since that's pretty much the most visible side.

Walking by Republic Square today, looking around and seeing it surrounded by towers now, and ATX Tower filling the corner a block away... just made this square finally feel like a big city pocket park. So impressive to see how this section of downtown keeps getting built out.

I’ve said it before but I really think this building is a defining moment for Austin. I know it’s not our tallest but this is a real deal office tower with a hidden garage so it will look sleek.
