I agree. I myself am very unimpressed with the cladding.

The cladding is alright. Better than what I was expecting. (wasn't expecting much) Like the rough granite and the grey caps mute the spandrel glass. The feature corner looks like crap though.

I think the glass is alright... I wasn't originally expecting the glass to be as dark as it is!... But the granite looks nice against the green glass!

We'll see once more cladding arrives and then we'll see the all glass portion of the tower

hard to tell cause construction is quite slow on this one (only about 2 floors a month ).... But if things speed up, i could see this one topping out by Spring of 2011.... right now we're about at the 20th floor (a third of the way there) then you add all the mechanical stuff and the spire...

I want to reserve judgement until more cladding is put up...I feel like by examing a few pieces of glass and granite, we may not be impressed, but once the entire building is complete, the whole will be completely fine. Decent at worst.

ooo! Such a lovely sight to see all those cladding pieces! I look forward to seeing them all in action

The streetwall is looking fantastic beside Bay Adelaide!

Cladding is legit!

steveve, you couldn't have said it any better! I not only agree that this tower is turning out great so far, but it will for sure blend in great with its neighbors...

This building is TRULY a financial district tower... not only architecturally but its busy, jam packed, tight, concept!

They fit it all on a tiny lot in one of Toronto's busiest intersections!

It definitely does not have breathing room around it. From the street level it will have virtually no impact.

Well... it does have a good impact depending on where you're standing.. It does fill in a nice gap in the skyline

Going back to boden's photo..

A pretty nice impact -imo (even though its not a huge one)

Trump from City hall by current on UT!

This is starting to look like NY with the skating rink, trees, etc... Looks like toronto's central park!

Great pics! Trump looks like it's at least at 20+ storeys now, and that cladding looks great...makes it's podium look more like one of the banking buildings in the neighbourhood, without looking out of place...

yup! we're at about 20 stories now... but this buildings ceilings are higher than your average building so it's probably the equivalent of a 25 story building in terms of height...

This building's ceilings are not any higher than any other building in particular. Today buildings, ranging from low rises to highrises to skyscrapers, are being built with higher quality as time goes on and one of those characteristics includes higher floor-to-floor height in newer buildings. That's why I usually measure a building based on how tall it is in terms of actual height as opposed to floor count. For example, most people (especially not engineering geeks like us) would not know that there may be a difference in height between two different 100 floor buildings. I'd say by today's standards, this building is just about right.

Also, please keep up the excellent updates for us non-Toronto dwellers! I'm excited to see how far the cladding on this one has progressed since I've last seen it.

i was just comparing it to the "average" building (probably an older one not built in the past 10 years)...

i still haven't seen the cladding in person (such a shame ) but i'll head down there whenever i can... It'll be nice to see it in person when we have more sides clad in something
