There goes that plan, then.

If this land is around where the Kent store is, then I think it was supposed to be designated commercial anyway. We need more info.

Could Irving be moving towards becoming a land development company too??? They will have to diversify as times change. They own the entire city block next to the proposed Infinity Tower. This could become a large mixed use development too.

Plus they own a pile of strategic land, mostly south and east, in Saint John. Not sure about Fredericton or elsewhere. Given their ownership of Atlas, Irving Equipment, etc., they would stand to realize substantial savings over most builders. They're half a vertically-integrated construction and development company today.

I know that Irving was considering structural changes recently but I don’t know which Irving company this was. It’s hard to keep track.

You're thinking of Irving Oil.

The new Strip Mall on Horseman now has lines painted in the parking lot - signs of even more to come soon?

Also on Twin Oaks "The Oak" has seen the fencing come down and landscaping looking like it's being prepared for sod / seeding on the side facing Twin Oaks.

Thanks for the welcome!

Also was pointed out today that it looked like a pour was happening inside the Horseman mall - possible that tenant space is confirmed and they put the plumbing in?

The first tenant is rumoured to be an optometrist office.

If they are working on pouring the pads inside it would at least make me think they have someone 100 % confirmed with a layout where they need services.

After being idle for so long any progress is a good thing!

Horsman Centre has a new for lease sign up, a fresh paint job of the parking lot and more importantly a front door which had been a big chunk cheap wood for what seemed like a year.

We may now know the first tenant for the Horsman Centre:

- The previously reported optical business is apparently Brunswick Optical. I do not know if this is a relocation of their existing store on St. George, or an entirely new location.

We also now know what is going on on the large lot under construction on DesBrisay Avenue in the MID West Industrial Park.

Signage has been erected for Greystone Energy Systems, yet another homegrown Moncton success story. They advertise themselves as "one of North America’s largest ISO registered manufacturers of HVAC sensors and transmitters."

Quote:
Established in 1983, Greystone has over 30 years of experience designing, manufacturing and supplying HVAC sensors and transmitters for Building Automation Management Systems. Headquartered in Moncton, NB, our global family consists of over 120 employees, across 9 locations globally, including regional sales offices in Dubai, India, Singapore and Malaysia. Since its inception, Greystone’s leadership has had a global focus on growth, expanding into the United States in 1987, into South East Asia shortly later in 1989, and finally expanding into the Middle East in 1998. Most recently our market expansion has focused on South and Central America, as we continue to expand within our current markets and strive to be the premier supplier of sensors and transmitters for the HVAC Industry.
So, they are an international and global company. I presume this new building will be for their new manufacturing plant.

Update - this is apparently a relocation and an expansion
