They're starting to install metal brackets along the perimeter of the concrete slabs. I wonder if these are meant to support some kind of cladding/window wall system? Maybe one of our construction experts can jump in and let us know what they're for. The construction staging area on the vacant lot fronting King William also appears to have been moved.

The north side of King William is looking quite fetching, and having this tower behind will enhance that view.

I'd LOVE to see something akin to Templar Flats fill the space where the Balfour Building used to stand. Not a twin, but a relative. But even more so, buildings filling the spaces those cars and trucks sit on would go a long way...

^One of the suburban home builders owns it (Spallacci, I think) and has since Zellers stood on that site in the late 80s.

Someone will have to make them an offer they can't refuse.

Yes, you are correct the brackets are for the curtain wall/ window installation. The lot that formerly housed the site trailers has been cleared in preparation for a new project unrelated to the student residence.

Not officially. It was a 4 storey Balfour building that fell down April 19(?), 2008 and should be replaced. The parkette is temporary. I believe LIUNA is suppose to replace it as the last project of the Lister Block renewal.

I always figured the city would use that lot for a Lister Block addition/expansion if they ever needed more office space.

Glazing panels on site awaiting installation. Looks like silver or dark grey mullions/frames with blue/mirror glass & a few darker spandrel panels.

It already seems so tall! Here's hoping it sets the tone for the rest of that section of downtown...
